Terms of Service
These terms form the agreement between you and MoveTogether.now VOF, a Dutch general partnership registered with the KvK under number 99874237 (“MoveTogether.now”, “we”, “us”), when you use the MoveTogether.now app, website, or any related service (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
MoveTogether.now is a platform that lets people find 1-on-1 sports partners nearby, pin a location, and arrange to play together. We provide the software — we do not organise the games, rent out venues, or supervise matches. What you do with the people you meet through the app is up to you.
2. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- You may only hold one personal account. Accounts are not transferable.
- You agree to give accurate information when signing up and to keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for keeping your password and device secure. Tell us at support@movetogether.now if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
- We may ask you to verify information, and we may suspend or close accounts that appear fake, fraudulent, or that we cannot reasonably verify.
3. Your licence to use the app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use the app on devices you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these terms. We keep all other rights. Do not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or resell the Service except as allowed by mandatory law.
4. Acceptable use
When using the Service you agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, bully, stalk, or discriminate against anyone.
- Post or send content that is unlawful, defamatory, sexually explicit, or that infringes anyone’s rights (including intellectual-property rights).
- Post or send content that sexualises or endangers minors, or that promotes or facilitates child sexual abuse or exploitation (“CSAE”). We have zero tolerance: we remove such content as soon as we become aware of it and report it to the competent authorities.
- Solicit, sell, or advertise goods, services, or sexual content, or use the Service for commercial promotion without our written permission.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your connection to a person, brand, or club.
- Share another person’s personal information without their consent, including “doxxing” and publishing private photos.
- Scrape, data-mine, or bulk-download content from the Service, or use it to train machine-learning models, without our written permission.
- Circumvent security features, rate limits, or moderation decisions.
- Upload malware, or attack the availability or integrity of the Service.
- Use the Service for activities that are illegal where you are, or that breach applicable sanctions or export-control rules.
We may remove content and suspend or delete accounts that break these rules, with or without notice, depending on the severity.
5. Your content
Anything you post in the Service — profile text, photos, event descriptions, comments, ratings, feedback, reports — is “Your Content”. You keep ownership of Your Content.
You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, display, and distribute Your Content, but only to the extent needed to operate, improve, promote, and secure the Service. This licence ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except where we need to keep a copy for legal, safety, or backup reasons for a limited time (see our Privacy Policy).
You promise that Your Content is yours to post, does not infringe anyone else’s rights, and follows these terms. You are solely responsible for Your Content.
If you believe something in the Service infringes your rights, or needs to come down for another legal reason, write to team@movetogether.now with enough detail that we can investigate.
6. Meeting in person and safety
MoveTogether.now lets you meet other people offline. Playing sport and meeting strangers carries real-world risk. You agree that:
- You are responsible for deciding whom to meet, where, and when.
- You are responsible for your own health and fitness to play — if in doubt, check with a doctor.
- We do not vet, background-check, or verify users beyond basic account checks.
- Any venue, court, or field you use must be used according to the rules of its operator and the law.
- You should look after your own belongings.
If something goes wrong — injury, abuse, fraud, lost property — please report it to the appropriate authorities and, where the Service is involved, to us.
7. Reports, blocks, and moderation
You can report users, events, and comments from inside the app, and you can block users to stop interacting with them. Reports are reviewed by our team, and we may remove content, warn users, restrict features, or remove accounts as we think reasonable. We aim to triage reports about abuse, safety, or CSAE within 48 hours where practical, and to handle other reports within a reasonable time. These targets are best-effort and not a guaranteed service level.
If we act on Your Content or account, we will usually tell you why, unless we are legally prevented from doing so or telling you would create a safety risk. You can reply to team@movetogether.now to contest a decision.
8. Third-party stores and services
If you install the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, that store’s terms also apply to your download and installation of the app. Apple Inc. and Google LLC are not parties to this agreement and are not responsible for the Service or for any claims relating to it. They are, however, third-party beneficiaries entitled to enforce these terms against you to the extent applicable store rules require.
The Service uses maps provided by Google Maps and push notifications delivered via Apple and Google systems. Your use of those features is also subject to their own terms.
9. Availability and changes
We try to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may update, change, or discontinue features at any time. For significant changes that affect you, we will give reasonable notice in the app or by email.
We may update these terms. If we make material changes we will notify you in the app or by email at least 30 days in advance, unless the change is required by law or needed to keep the Service safe. Continuing to use the Service after the new terms take effect means you accept them. If you do not accept them, stop using the Service and close your account.
10. Termination
You can close your account at any time in Settings → Delete Account, or by writing to support@movetogether.now. We can suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we need to for legal or safety reasons, or if the Service is discontinued. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (content licence to the extent needed, liability, governing law, disputes) do survive.
11. Liability
To the extent permitted by law:
- We provide the Service “as is” and “as available”, with no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your expectations.
- We are not responsible for the conduct of other users, whether online or offline, or for anything that happens when you meet someone in person.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, loss of profits, loss of goodwill, or loss of data.
- Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to EUR 100 (one hundred euros), or the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, whichever is higher.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot be limited under Dutch mandatory law.
12. Consumer rights
If you use the Service as a consumer residing in the European Union, you have rights under EU and national consumer law that cannot be taken away by these terms — nothing here is meant to limit those rights. You can also use the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, excluding its rules on conflicts of laws and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Disputes that cannot be settled amicably will be submitted to the competent court in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. If you are a consumer, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the EU member state where you live, and mandatory protections of the law of that country apply.
